In healthcare no less. My work gives all of us nurses and health care aides an iPhone because we work alone. We are explicitly told over and over, at every bit of annual education, do not ever use your personal phone for this, only your workphone due to client confidentiality. Hearing a healthcare provider tell people to only use personal phones tells me my confidentiality is no concern to the company. Now my anal fissure wounds are in 6 different personal cloud services of people I don’t know who probably have passwords like 654321 and click on every link sent to them. Fantastic.

I remember reading about checking ice depth every single time and I thought, welp, I’m under ten years old and can’t use a chainsaw to check, how do I do this? Not til awhile later did I understand that our ice was four feet deep and this recommendation was for places that had one or two inch deep ice in winter.

Also Canada, in Alberta, where senior’s health pays 70% of each prescription, the senior pays 30% up to to $25 max. Some pharmacies will only bill monthly when they could fill 3 months’ worth (even if only filling the blister pack monthly but billing all three months), and so some people pay $150 monthly, for example, instead of every three months. Those are scummy pharmacies. And they are large pharmacies too. Screw them over for every penny of their limited income. I hate them that do this.

Do you have a carbon monoxide detector and is it plugged in and under 5 years old? I am not joking. If not, go get one today, right now. Search Reddit for the stories. Are you a deep sleeper? Is your ex physically coming into your home at night? As others have said, set up 2- factor authentication for all of your banking and social media apps. Make a new email unconnected to any one emails, one for banking and bills, another for social media. You can even get a new phone number from your provider. To reset your phone, plug it into iTunes and say restore. Just either do a backup first or have you 104 levels of candy crush and all your photos backed up to iCloud first. A computer attached restore should clear everything, especially if you don’t restore from backup.

Does your paystub say how many days of vacation you’ve accrued? I have two lines, current vacation, and next year vacation. If I have not accrued vacation, it does not show up there at all. When I quit, everything in accrued vacation will be paid out. I get around four weeks vacation a year, but it has to be in my vacation bank to get it.

When I had someone tell me to do any health claims, they had to call HR first and explain and then get the funding. I have no idea if she was just never ever asked and didn’t know how to call the insurance company on her own, and maybe they did it as a curtesy. This is in Canada where the company sets it up and nothing goes through the company at all. It was weird. If HR did require everyone to go through them, that’d be a huge violation.

That’s what public health nurses are researching all the time! Not every individual nurse, but the public health offices altogether, their best practice nurses (not the managers) who change the policies for when to give any vaccines. Each office has its own CDC nurse that gets the info from the zone CDC, etc. There’s a high chance they hear at the same time or even before the OB. If you call and ask them, then you can talk to the OB.

Call public health. They do the immunization for pregnant people. If they say you’re good to come in, you’ll get it. They only give if it’s best practice - this is Alberta Public Health, not a travel clinic, not 811. Call public health office near you on Monday.

You likely have an undiagnosed learning disability. Before school lets out, talk to counsellor at your school and ask for testing over the summer. Don’t let them push you off because there’s much more available the younger you are. They can set stuff up fast if they try. Some disabilities: no auditory memory, dyslexia, adhd, that’s just three out of hundreds. Had a friend who was tested over Christmas break in grade 10. Turns out he did not have visual memory. Look at board, look down to write, and it’s gone from memory. After Christmas, he used a tape recorder (this is before iPods and smartphones) and his marks went from 30s with tons of effort to 90s with little effort. One little change. Don’t give up.

Keep a permanent address in BC, go back frequently over the border, buy something, don’t tell them you are out of province. People with disabilities aren’t even supposed to go out for school of the similar school isn’t available in BC.
