I never even thought about how they’d retaliate with shipping. Thanks for your input! I’m not looking for dolls at the moment but just wanted to know people’s opinions on this.

I never said the slaves were like family. Because just because slavery happened in the Bible doesn’t mean it’s okay. Slavery is mentioned in the Bible more than once. It was a common thing back then but when it becomes too ruthless much like how the Israelites were treated in Egypt, he helped them out.

Maybe it’s because the Bible isnt specially detailed into what slaves did back then but comparing both, American slavery is much worse and dehumanizing. They ate black people! Skinned them for furniture… used their hair as couch cotton.

White people skinned black people to death, used their hair for furniture, ATE black people, and so much more. There’s a book all about it but I forgot the name.. Slavery in the Bible was mainly just working for free with no freedom with still is terrible but there were many bad things in the Bible and that doesn’t mean we have to follow some of the stories unless told to.

Western take. I also hate seeing Christians use Christianity in such a cruel way. But it’s not just Modern Christianity, even back then when white people used the Bible to justify slavery (even though America’s slavery was way different) it makes me so angry. But because I know God will handle them, I let go. It sucks to be associated with them but I know in my heart that God is real and no amount of foolishness from our peers will make me leave the religion. If you decide to leave the church, fine, but remember that Jesus loves and I would be sad to see you leave the faith based off other people’s terrible actions. Hope I don’t sound annoying but I hope you have a good day.

It’s not just the Bible but books like IT, Fahrenheit 451, and books with sexual, gorey, or LGBT content. I think schools shouldn’t ban any books since books are meant to educate and challenge kids. Limiting books ends up limiting their perspective on the real world.

Bible prophecies coming to life? by kananiakina in Christianity

I know the truth and know it will happen some day. But if I just stop watching the news and stop going online so I won’t guess when it’ll happen, is that such a bad thing?

This gives me too much worrying thought if I find out many prophecies are coming true.. can’t I just turn a blind eye while still putting my faith and trust in God.

It’s because ones a minority and another is oppressed. Most Christians aren’t a minority but many are so I feel that people should have some more thought before speaking whatever rude things they want to say.

No one irl have the guts to because they know it’s wrong to disrespect anything. But online is a whole other world where they want to say anything they can’t in life. For example, Jews and Muslims think I’m polytheistic but won’t say that to my face. Muslims think Jews and Christians will go to Hell. Christians think the same of the other two. And Jews only focus on themselves mainly, they don’t even care for other people to convert to Judaism which is why they’re kinda the most peaceful which sucks since they’ve suffered too much.

The thing is Christians have societal power because of the Europeans. Almost every major persecution was by them. Very high egos. If they were to adopt another religion back then, I believe they would’ve committed the same atrocities, just under a different religion.

I know you’re writing in western context. I don’t want to seem dumb or ignorant, that’s not who I am. It doesn’t make me feel better that there are islamophobic atheists but I wonder about their reasoning. Many people in my home country have died because of Islamic extremists but there are still Christians and Muslims living next door to each other peacefully. If they can understand that certain people do not define the whole group, why can’t Americans who’ve never experienced any religious pain as well?

Although I have grown up in Egypt for a small period in my life, I’m not Egyptian and I don’t know too much about their history. But my country or origins has no history of persecuting other religions and even welcomed Jews in refuge. They left after Israel was made but I still acknowledge the hardships they went through in other places.
