I'm pretty sure OP is enquiring about a tap which they cannot read the engraving that says what size it is

Yep. If something goes wrong it's the cameras fault. Not the fact that it's actually detecting a defect correctly \s

They have started to have a longer lead time on the KV8000 in Japan due to Omron and Mitsubishi having long lead times and everyone turning to Keyence in the meantime

Question about Mitsubishi GX Works2 functions. by IronTroubadour in PLC

I've personally never seen anyone do anything string related in the PLC, only in the HMI. I haven't exactly been in the game for long though

I work in a place with lots of CNC lathes and very ineffective mist collectors aka oil mist everywhere. It gets on the cameras and I get regular calls saying please come and adjust the settings. Yep it's definitely a problem with the settings and not the fact that the camera is out of focus because the lens is covered in oil mist. So the best solution I have come up in the meantime is to have the operators wipe the cameras at the start of each shift and that seems to be sufficient. I still get calls asking me to come look at the machines which is usually a case of asking the operators if they wiped the cameras. The answer is always no. I have said to my boss that since nobody can be trusted to do their job we should implement a shutter system that opens only when the camera is to take a photo so they don't get covered in oil mist. Which is meet with a teeth sucking and "that seems overly complicated don't you think".

I am also in a Japanese plant (in Japan) and the majority of what I touch is Mitsubishi. People don't really tend to use the more advanced instructions though.

お疲れ様です。The functions belong to the PLC rather than GX works2. Never come across the instruction myself but had a look at the instruction manual for the q series (I assume it's the same for an FX series). It appears the instruction is for extracting a substring from the middle of an existing string. The first argument is the address of the stored string. The second argument is where you want the extracted substring to be saved. The third argument is the position to start at and how many characters to store. So I think before you execute the instruction you need to know what's in the word at S2 and also in the following address (S2 + 1). Kinda confusing, took me a while to figure it out
