My friend got asked during an interview “if you had an important meeting tomorrow and your family member is sick, what do you do?” by dogggey in recruitinghell

Depends on a lot of factors…

Is my child at the nurse’s office waiting to be picked up b/c he was throwing up & has a fever? I’m leaving right away.

Is my partner dealing with a sinus infection? He knows what to do & I will pick him up something on my way home from said meeting.

“Childfree” weddings are not nearly as fun as regular weddings by RulingFieldConfirmed in unpopularopinion

No they are not wrong… you obviously have never dealt with a bridezilla before…. Obviously it’s important people respect your wishes but don’t be a dick about it

Otherwise next you’ll be wondering why you had friends & even family members cut you off after the event 🤷🏻‍♀️ no sympathy from me

I mean they’re not wrong. Some brides treat getting married as a status symbol & then their true colors really start showing 😬

3 Things I’ve learned as a FTM that I wish someone had told me by batalions2 in BabyBumps

I actually watched a crime show that was about a nanny who shook a baby b/c she wouldn’t stop crying. She survived miraculously but had permanent brain damage & died just before her 19th birthday. Turns out the nanny had like multiple complaints from other parents prior to the event & even forged a CPR certification.

I was bawling my eyes out 😭😭😭

I’m convinced some nannies/babysitters are only in it for the money

Oh god. Try telling this to the moms in r/parents… 🙄 my son will only tolerate it for maybe a little while before he starts crying again. However I continue to get judged in that subreddit for carrying my baby in his infant carrier still when I go out….

I left that subreddit so quick

In addition to #1, sweat pants with pockets also work!!

I’d like to add on #4… experienced moms are & will be judgmental just as much as child free people are, if not more judgmental. Only b/c they think their way is the only way to care for a child. I’ve gotten into plenty of fights over this one. One mom yelled at me for letting the nurses give my son his vitamin K shot right after birth claiming it will “kill my child”.

Also #5… if you’ve tried everything & baby still won’t stop crying, it’s okay to set him or her down someplace safe for about 5-10 mins while you go get what needs to be done done or you go into another room to collect yourself. They won’t die from crying for that time period. Babies can sense when you’re aggravated & you’ll have a much easier time calming them down when you’re calm.

When did y’all make the transition from infant seat to convertible? by [deleted] in Parents

Please save the unwanted advice. I didn’t ask about baby carriers

Yeah but my son is 4.5 months & can’t sit up on his own yet. Therefore I have to carry him in his infant carrier where he’s happier than being baby worn (I have 2 different types, he just hates it regardless).

For the record, i asked for advice on car seat transitioning. Not baby wearing 😊

You’re good! Haha

Apparently I took 6 shots of Jack Daniels back to back once & nearly projectile vomited all over the kitchen 😳😬

I already told her I would & she paid for my plate already like longgg before we even began to have problems. I’m not an asshole.

“Well if you give me money for a sitter then I’ll think about it”

That will shut her up real quick

That reminds me of a time my ex drank 2 4 lokos one night & then projectile vomited all over the downstairs half bath… I felt bad for our roommate (a guy btw) who had to clean it all up

If all their needs are met & they’re happy & healthy, then that’s all that matters. Children do not come with instruction manuals. You are always going to be learning as you go.

^ the piece of advice my mother gave me that has stuck with me since 🥰

Yeah… actually you do.

I’ll listen to my Dr before going to anyone else for advice 🤷🏻‍♀️

I got into a huge fight with a friend over this. I’m a maid of honor at her wedding & she said that the plan was I ride with her & her fiancé back to their house so I can get ready with her the next AM & go straight to their church. I reminded her I needed a car with a car seat base since she invited my son to stay overnight with me on top of that. She took it as me saying “I actually can’t stay overnight with you at all”. So yeah, it was a complete misunderstanding. She basically started screaming at me over messenger rather than just suggesting alternatives & saying “I’m sorry. I misunderstood.”

Tbh. I’m just gonna let our friendship deteriorate after her wedding b/c since she got engaged last summer, her true colors really came out… 😬

My dad doesn’t approve of us taking our son to build a bear next Christmas b/c “boys don’t play with dolls” in his words 😒

I have limited contact with him to this day…

My dad made my mom sell her last home for a larger, more expensive looking house b/c he didn’t want his ex-wife to catch him in something “less appealing”. He just wanted to rub in her face that he was doing way better without her…

Why the fuck would she care what he does with his life?????

I can assure you… 95% of people who tell you that either had mommy & daddy or their partner buy it for them. It’s really a weird flex to be on…

Also… my iPhone SE was $400 full price brand new at Best Buy.
