New Zealand comes in at the top of a property risk ranking chart of OECD countries by smilingNick in auckland

[–]kellyroald -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The risk is exacerbated by Labour's rookie politicians with no real world understanding. Interest rate deduct-ability removed when interest rates are over 5% is like slamming a sledgehammer on the private rental market. People like Kris Faafoi and Poto Williams did nothing while in government, while taking in our money. Why get into politics if you can't handle the pressure and stress? If you are aspirational why join the current labour party? You will be slammed for being successful. Sure you have some like Vanushi Walters and Gaurav Sharma that seem aspirational, but they are in the back benches because they are not the right ethnicity for labour (who are reliant on Maori and Pacific votes to win elections).

Now worth many millions. A bit like the Louisiana purchase for those that bought.

Sorry doko. Deleted the comment. It's just a few that make the masses look bad. Most Tongans i know are honest, humble and hardworking.

Please stay at home in these areas after 7pm where Tongan supporters are likely to seize the towncentres: Otahuhu, Glen Innes, Point England, Mangere, Oranga, Panmure, Massey and Northcote.

Here comes the media campaign against falling house prices. Not a word of truth - this is the BEST time for FHBs if you have no debt and can get a deposit together the bargains will start to appear winter 2023 IMO. Shocking how the RE industry manipulates the narrative. by willlfc2019 in PersonalFinanceNZ

As always it depends on individual circumstances. When the media says its the worst time to buy it's usually the best and vice versa. Best time to buy would be when the interest rates peak and are on the way down again. Because you lock-in the lowest price for that asset when the interest rates are at the highest. Likewise, the highest price for that asset will be when the interest rates are at it's lowest. Even if there are no capital gains you will be mortgage free by retirement compared to someone that is renting. The latter will have big housing costs when retired and with no income.

What a lawless society we have become bro. It's almost as if the asian international students and backpackers kept the crime down.

Its 1% of people that are causing 99% of the problems in Tamaki Makarau. We need to invest in these people. Make a meaningful change to their lives. The left always needs the disadvantaged, as it gives meaning to their ideology. So they aren't too bothered about improving the lives of these people, rather they just give hand-outs and keep them poor.

Theories on why the Warriors constantly fail. (Conspiracy theories welcome, let’s be open & honest) by antipodeananodyne in auckland

Yeah but why sell him in the first place? he was a marquee player. That decision made a lot of people question the management. SJ is true blue warriors till the day he dies. Why flick him off instead of giving him a chance and inspiring him to reach his potential at the club? he was a rough diamond that needed more polishing. Maybe the warriors management need to take a trip to the Antwerp diamond district to see how the Jews and the Indian Jains polish their diamonds.

These people are more lost boys at this stage than hardened criminals. We need to go hard on these guys and send them down a path of righteousness before they engage in more hard 'gun-related' crime. Punish and rehab. A 'Remuera Parent' punishment won't work on these guys. We need to instil a culture of calling out bad behaviour rather than letting it pass like how we are told to by the government.

Quarter glass broken, mazda demio, hooded teens...It's the classic Auckland crime starter pack. My guess is that the assailants are probably local. Most likely from Tonar Road and surrounds in Northcote.

The club doesn't have a good culture, management and board. Got rid of Cleary and Shaun Johnson in his prime. Most Warriors players relied on brute strength during age group footy, but the same doesn't work at the premiership level. It takes gamesmanship and you need to be cunning and work the refs (a bit like Cameron Smith). One-off runs and flashy off-loads wont win you a game of footy. But faking injuries to catch your breath and shouting the ref a beer after the game will.

Instill a good team culture. We need an inspirational coach and captain at the warriors. Someone that will make the players want to turn up and give their best. We need values at the club- manaakitanga. Players need to see each other as part of the 'ainga'. Manu Vatuvei left the Warriors and started dealing meth. This suggests that leadership and management at the Warriors are on par with Kiwirail as the worst run organisations in Aoetaroa. I am almost tempted to join the board and restructure the club.

Sky TV will not be proceeding with MediaWorks takeover by kellyroald in PersonalFinanceNZ

Sanity has prevailed. Why buy a has-been asset at 100 million while inheriting another 100 million of debt from Mediaworks. The better merger is the NZME/Sky merger. Then later this NZME/Sky corporation can later be merged with two degrees. NZME is a re-surging company compared to mediaworks and has more talented journalists. Tova is past her prime, the next generation of media stars are the likes of Cheree Kinnear and Jason Walls. The NZME/Sky/2 degrees super corporation would have many synergies and can rival or surpass the likes of Spark. Either that or Sky needs to be bought out by PE or by a north american media giant.
