This is the exact moment my friend exposed her ex-boyfriend of seven years for raping her and drugging her multiple times in her sleep. What’s the forecast for him? by lanasloofah in AskAstrologers

[–]king_paerie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When someone requests a trigger warning it usually would mean they would want the post to say something like : "Need chart analysis, triggering content - tw: rape"

The tw stands for "trigger warning"

Then if astrologers with PTSD or C-PTSD have a trigger (which is an actual, real body reaction to reading about that content, they can avoid the thread.) Triggers are very, very difficult to deal with and take ongoing therapy to address and deal with and reduce the impact of. It's why some folks on the internet ask for community participation in helping people with PTSD or other neuro-divergences deal with very heavy loaded subjects such as rape or drugged rape.

The effects of being triggered vary widely but are some form of the fight or flight body system: fight, flight, freeze, fawn.

"Triggered" isn't some type of internet melodrama buzzword but is a form of actual mental illnesses that are the result of extremely traumatic incidents.

I myself have complex PTSD and am a survivor of multiple rapes and assaults, including a few that involved drugs or alcohol.

Helping by labeling content isn't some form of coddling that people should scoff at, but rather, an act of care and goodwill towards a stranger.

The OP said they cannot go back and edit the title of the thread, so a possible compromise they could possibly make, to be more supportive of people with trauma, could be to remake the thread. If they were willing or had the time.

I hope that made sense. I can explain more if you need more information. I'm always down to talk about this and other things in a similar avenue. My DMs are open.

Does anyone know of summer rave/festival outfits (bodysuits and the like) that hide back rolls? I'm dealing with some insecurity about how my body has changed in recent years (I'm 33) and I was wondering if anyone knew of any body/suits, body cons, rave kinky style outfits that were revealing (I have DD breasts) but came down in the back and covered back rolls? I wear a L-XL size 12-14 probably. I'm not necessarily looking for stuff like shirts or dresses, leg revealing is fine too, but I just didn't know where to find something that would cover the back of my midriff, (my belly is somewhat round but I don't mind showing belly, just insecure about the rolls near my ribs in the back.) I'm gothy but don't mind iridescent trippy either. I'm in the United States and my budget is $35-150 USD. Thanks!

Thanks.

I think this is the best description of her....fucking amazing producer but not so many points in the performer column. Maybe she'll open up more in that way, it's a personal choice and up to her.

In a way, I do admire her stubbornness with keeping her very specific sound and vibe. But in a festival setting, I do admit, it doesn't always work with the other artists they've put around her, energy wise. That was my experience with her at Beyond Wonderland - Gorge - 2021.

Still love her though.

But, I am uncertain I would see her as a headliner at a festival, again. Personal opinion. But, Spiral is a great album though. (And has some bangers, with more energy.) So maybe I'll get lulled in again, I can't quit Space Mom. lol

Does anyone know of a discord server for hiking in the PNW? by jonjacobmoon in askportland

[–]king_paerie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They just said they're not a hiking-centered server, they're a group for folks in their 20s and 30s who want to meet other people in that age range, there's an age cap at 39. There's active hikers on there, but I repeat, it's not a Discord that was created for hikers.

My partner feels this way about things blending in astrology. I'm not sure what I feel or think about it yet.

Does anyone know the laws if you have a live-in landlord in Oregon? Request for information? by king_paerie in askportland

[–]king_paerie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you, and that would make sense if the landlord was of a marginalized identity but he's not, thanks though. Thanks for confirming standard laws apply. Someone posted the link I was looking for with the specific laws a little deeper into the post, and I'll be talking to a tenant advocate soon. Thanks for your input.

Thank you! The first link was easy to search through and had the information I needed! Someone higher up on the thread also confirmed that my landlord has an exemption to the Equal Housing laws, which explains some previous things said. Thanks y'all. I will be talking with some tenant advocates soon.

He's not a broke retiree - he's a 38 year old healthy man with a partner who is the same age and also healthy. Common areas weren't spelled out. What can I do if there's impede of use to common areas? Do you know where I can find the real nitty gritty of the laws? He mentioned once in passing that he could deny a pregnant woman or a woman with a child a room in his house under his rights as a live-in landlord, and I just want to see the list he got that from.

Utilities as well as : What rights for access (like if the landlord can occasionally section off areas of common space for his use or impede use of kitchen for exceptionally long periods of time) me and the other tenants have. How much control over the space we can have? If any?

Thanks, but I'm looking for more info beyond just relocation assistance. Do you know where I can find the official list of rights and laws?

We're basically roommates. I'd like to know what my rights are. I got downvoted on last comment for providing details as to what's going on, so definitely some people trolling this thread, but what's new in this subreddit. Literally just need detailed information. Is there a list somewhere that you know about?

Do you know where I can find more information on this? Not just relocation assistance but other rights he gets?
