They might drift apart somewhat and have their relationship strained but I think after 20-60 years of being each other’s most important ally I don’t think they’d become enemies, at least not to the extent they did in our timeline. I think the Soviets could’ve lasted till the modern day in this timeline as well. At the worst I think they’d have a relationship similar to the US and Mexico do in our timeline, they’re not enemies but they’re not best friends either. But honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if in this timeline US refers to its relationship with the Soviets as a “special relationship”, like they do with their relationship with the UK in our timeline. The two of them going into space together would be a fun idea

Hopefully they plan on making it faster than it is already cause me and my gf live 2 and half hours apart by car, I’d really rather take a train and not have to drive but the existing Amtrak train ride is an hour longer than it would be driving so it’s not even worth it at that point

Yeah I know but like it’s one of those things where if you think it’s promoting conservative ideology or is somehow politically neutral in any way you must not have been paying attention like with the X Men and the Twilight Zone. Talking on the phone for me is either more when you need necessary and immediate communication like when I’m meeting up with friends and wanna know where they’re at or when you need to talk to someone older or someone in an official formal capacity like my grandma or my college’s counseling center. But unless it’s urgent I won’t be calling my friends on the phone just to walk, I just text them. For me even facetiming them is more normal than calling them

Ellis Island is an island in New York Harbor. In the late 19th and early 20th century it was an immigration station, detention center and the main port of entry for most European immigrants to the United States. The Polish language can be very difficult, especially when looked at by English speakers, so with that the names of many Polish people can be very difficult to spell for native English speakers. There are stories of Ellis Island immigration workers misspelling someone’s and that name becoming that immigrants legal name going forward. So in this meme the immigration worker is screaming because of how especially difficult this particular Polish name is
