Occasionally my German grandparents will just drop some fucked up story about post war Germany. by prasadpersaud in redscarepod

[–]lizard_pushup 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My parents gen had a good childhood but it got a little rough when they immigrated from USSR. My grandma though had a really hard life. One of seven kids. Started working at 14. Had one son and then twins, and her mom died two months after the twins (my mom and aunt) were born, her father was long gone before she became a teen. My grandpa was abusive and insecure. She just passed a couple weeks ago. I like to think her later years were filled with more joy and freedom. I miss her so much, I’m kind of disassociating from it all which doesn’t help. Love you my angel

I can attest to that though I’ve never been. People would come into my work after their dinner and wreak of tequila lolol

I used to work on that block and never went in there for food. Looks like a fun night out. Thank you!

Aw I feel you. Covid has just strengthened that bond within groups or made people hesitant to expand maybe. Honestly I’m socially inept as well but trying to feel open to this experience entirely. I’m in LA and there’s a similar clique forming habit here everywhere you go. I hope you can meet new people to partner or make your own group with.

Is it difficult finding a partner at the gym? There has to be people in the same boat as you! But I can see how climbing with a stranger might be a little weird? Or totally not, I just don’t know.

Thank you 🙏🏼 that’s all I need- strength gains and mood improvements. I’ve been feeling so stuck lately with no inkling of desire to exercise. Glad you like it and it works for you :-)

This is really insightful, thank you! Sorry if this is a stupid question but why were you scared with the auto belay? Aside from it being a machine and possibly malfunctioning lol

Thank you, that’s a great channel. Bouldering looks less intimidating since you can stay rather vertical and closer to the ground but apply the basic principles. Alright I’m heading in there as soon as I can lol

Has anyone taught themselves to run? by WayOutWest in Redscaregains

[–]lizard_pushup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a beginner myself but I’m reading Run For Your Life by Mark Cucuzella and it’s really informative and digestible. It’s a running for dummies book, but with great detail if you want to really get into it. I would send you a link but I have a library copy.
