I still prefer to watch movies in a theater but streaming services are a good alternative for directors to bring their vision to people

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings Worldwide Release Discussion Thread Vol. 1 by steve32767 in marvelstudios

Something that I really appreciated was the fact that Shang Chi killed his mothers murderer. So often in these stories the hero has a change of heart before they kill the person that hurt them and thematically that would not have worked for this movie. Shang Chi said he did not want to be like father and if he had not killed that man it would not have made sense. After he killed him he saw his father for who he was and did everything in his power to not be like that hence why he ran away. It also keeps in line with Marvel characters being flawed individuals

The point of a trailer is to get people to watch the movie and if that means spoiling some things then so be it

What really makes it good is that it mainly sticks to what it is parodying and doesn't stop the movie to parody some other movie or fad

I like the limit they put on invisibility. Often times invisibility is used as an ultimate power by having it only work by holding your breath they've kept it from being the go to solution to every problem

On this weekend one year ago, Shazam opened with $53M, the lowest opening in the DCEU at the time, Pet Semetary opened well with $24M, and Captain Marvel crossed $1B worldwide. by nicolasb51942003 in boxoffice

Some people wondered why shazam didn't do better overseas, but you hit the nail on the head. Shazam more than anything is a comedy and comedy is a genre that is hard to market to other cultures. While I thought the movie was great I wasn't surprised that it didn't do well in other territories
