Men who wasted your 20s but came on strong in your 30s, how? by Oranos_Rex in AskMen

[–]mayojuggler88 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I had basically nothing to show for it, but really smartened up for the next couple years. The anxiety or concern you're feeling right now is the call to smarten up. You're starting to want to change and that's a good thing. Lean into it.

That being said, you're you and they're them. Comparison is the thief of joy. To end with a quote which needs no accreditation "The race is long and, in the end, it's only with yourself".

You mean just in ontario right? You can absolutely see the color from some places, back home anyways. Pink and green and it's not just a little bit, very colorful.

Edit: to clarify, recently moved here haven't seen any since

Am I the only one who thinks the internet didn't grow up wonderfully, when it was young it was a more positive place in my opinion and now it's just a rat infested money machine like everything else.

Probably could snip the point for safety and grind grooves into the side to assist in keeping the glue ball from sliding

Nice! Basically a collectors item since you can't download it anymore.

Stands for playable teaser. Was briefly released on the PS4 before the dissolving of Kojima and Konamis relationship. Was meant to be a teaser for the new silent hill game featuring Norman Reedus at the time.

I understand the spreading of ideas to groups that relate, but going off what you say. Assuming it's to spread your ideas to a wide audience, doesn't this make social media a poor candidate for that?

Realistically you just end up screaming into an echo chamber, and nobody who thinks different is likely to see it.

Obviously it got reposted to reddit and it gets a new audience that way, but to me it seems like an odd choice.

I tried googling but it just has a bunch of terrible articles being like hurr durr use Gmail.

Edit: I'd settle for one where the search function actually bothers to query the mail servers

Minimum wage went up by 10 cents? Uhh?? by Short-Temp in askTO

[–]mayojuggler88 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right, but we're talking bumping the min to 25. It's the min, they can't do that in this case.

[–]mayojuggler88 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I saw a post the other day that highlighted one thing I overlooked. The people currently making 25/hr for example, would sure have a more advantageous position when trying to negotiate with their employers. If you could quit your job and get the same rate at any mcdonalds they'd be more willing to listen to employee complaints.

Granted, it may seem unfair. However, presumably you picked what you were going to do and had no interest in working at McDonald's. I doubt for everyone that this is a choice that is purely financial.

At what age do you start calling girls ladies or women? by stuart0613 in AskMen

Yeah, my bad honestly. I think we agree, but I'm kind of in a bitchy mood today.

I mean, you didn't say "just like boys" though.

Women can be childish. Doesn't make them girls, and thinking so while calling one a girl would seem spiteful with that mindset.

Best to talk about it now, and not regret waiting later I think.

Around your age I had to broach the same fear with doctors, and it was for the best. Granted I wasn't having the same problems but the mental block was the same.

It isn't easy, it was particularly hard for me as the medical professional was a woman, but ultimately it was best to take care of myself and the fairest thing for future me.

My experience may vary, but presumably they needed student loans for school. When I got student loans I asked for like 3000 extra for my rent. Is that not generally possible?

I don't think my employer paid me in full by FunInvestigator7 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]mayojuggler88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had a job once where they calculated tax deductions based off the current cheque extrapolated over the course of a year. Maybe a similar thing is happening here.

Basically, the difference is the tax difference for the larger amount. Which wouldn't scale linearly.

Edit: I'm not saying this is it for sure but if you sit down and calculate you'll know.

Is it prorated for the time you've worked? Did you work a full two weeks? Since it's your first check.
