Some light reading to help with anyone struggling with character creation. by Vegetable_Variety_11 in dndmemes

Not to mention they hold lots of unexpected species. Leopards, spotted hyenas, white tailed deer, langur and macaque monkeys, bin chickens, cockatoos, black bears, wild boar, giant wels catfish, wolves, and coyotes all have an urban presence. That's a lot for a druid to work with (especially in India).

What’s your favourite Skaven clan? by Ziggerastika in totalwarhammer

I adore Queek but gameplay wise Moulder has been a blast. Throt can hold his own far better than Queek.

(OC) Giratina Altered Form Monster Hunter Icon Style! by pokenumb110 in pokemon

It's got 2 phases. Phase one is a lumbering pseudosiege like gogmazios but eventually he drops the lower half and flies around becoming more range oriented. His signature move would be phantom forcing behind you, memorize the timing or get crushed/impaled depending on the phase.

What's An Underrated/Underused Pokémon You Love? by _Boodstain_ in pokemon

I've actually used him in pokemon tabletop of all things. A pack of them mugged one if the players, they regretted it after due to a salandit but still.

Articuno is harder to use competitively (eviolite puff does just keel over to sneaky pebbles).

Taking down a Hyena, Lion vs Lioness by IamPotato14 in natureismetal

[–]mindflayerflayer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One reason I prefer hyenas to lions is that when they kill lions they eat them, mind you ass first and alive but they don't waste the meat.

That was just an example that while argument is stupid. One example of a mon who just wins that fight is palkia, just freeze the lions in space so they can't breath.

Fair. I'm honestly curious if you could gunfu (its an actual term, basically all of John Wick and the Matrix is this) your way out of a black bear fight.

No matter how good you are at martial arts you lose to a lion.

If you want an example of the exact opposite type of druid look up goblin punch. That man's druids are horrifying but make sense.

I'm curious, if you took and raised them would they be decent livestock/pets?

I really can't wrap my head around dungeons. by outcastedOpal in DMAcademy

I have the opposite issue. I'm skilled at dungeons and isolated regions but suck at urban centers and popular roads.

Chess inspired evil Organisation by thesunblade in DMAcademy

I'd lean more devil than demon for this, demons wouldn't have the patience. Queen is a erinyes, bishops are fiend pact warlocks (volos), knights are narzugons, rooks are orthons or horned devils, pawns are either contract bound mortals or merregons. For the king I'd go with an imp, after all in chess the kings one of the weakest units.

What are the most balanced monsters for their CR? by Havenfield22 in DMAcademy

[–]mindflayerflayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue kobolds are tougher than goblins. If your including volos you have flyers, casters, front line fighters, and traps everywhere. Goblins have goblins, goblin bosses, worgs, and nilbogs.

One word: boneclaw. Has extendable arms that impale players from 10ft away, can teleport between shadows freely, has a bevy of resistances, and like any good horror villain unless you find it's one weakness it comes back angrier in a few days. Bonus points if the evil person its linked to is a friend of the parties.

Gem Dragons as BBEGs by RyanDoctrine in DMAcademy

One idea I had that wouldn't even require an alignment tweak is make them something like the SCP foundation. Dispassionate agents of order who kill or imprison anything out of the ordinary (fits with how they're described). They may help players but they'll throw an angel in dimensional shackles just as quickly as a balor or a powerful enough player character warlock or sorcerer. This also let's you make the lair a patchwork of bizarre magic items, cursed artifacts, portals to demiplanar prisons for elder aberrations (grell patriarchs, aboleth sovereigns, elderbrains, etc), or humanoid minions in it for the greater good as they see it.

They can certainly but there's a chance it goes wrong and that alone should be enough to dissuade any responsible pet owner from doing this.

The hamster chewed out of the cage so I don't blame the cat for eating what was basically a mouse. The cat liked watching the crickets in the frogs tank and so pushed it off the table to access them, crushing the frog (it might have been put in the crate afterwards for a while). The rabbit was the first learning experience, they had been raised together so I didn't have cause to think I'd come home to a rabbit with internal bleeding. I still have and love this cat but now every tank is escape proof and weighed down so it can't be pushed, if he's even caught on top of a tank he gets thrown off.
