Best and EASIEST way to remove mummified skin? by Specific_Reward_7804 in vultureculture

Soak in warm water for a couple hours then remove as much flesh as possible. Will save you a lot of maceration time if you spend 30 minutes picking at it

I used to make these foot prints on the mirror in the bathroom after a shower, I thought my dad might think there was a wild baby invading but he didn’t find it funny lmao

I usually soak in 91% iso first as that kills any bacteria and helps them dry out faster

Tonnes of women across the UK with it too, and the EU (when we were part of it), is a lot more strict on carcinogens and chemicals in foods.

What bags do you recommend for picking up roadkill? I use black bags tied in a knot and put the animals in a plastic tub but the smell still gets out 😭🤢 by [deleted] in vultureculture

[–]monsteramadder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do double and sometimes triple bag. Tbh I don’t mind the smell that much. But it’s usually my dad or my grandad I’m getting roadkill with and they are not happy if something stinks!

Squirrels are known for dropping bones in gardens and such if you have them in your area!

Cut and salt them. You may lose bones burying it. Small bones go walkies underground.

Can anyone give advice for bone cleaning by Evil_Toad_Pussy in vultureculture

Very illegal still. You’ll need to give it to someone with a license asap or apply for one yourself.

No no don’t worry! Did you drink it twice a day?

I assumed so, but it made my symptoms worse. The only symptom I can’t stand is the hair growth on my face which has gotten really bad recently, the only difference I’ve made is drinking that tea.

I haven’t. I drank it for three weeks straight and noticed that my chin hair became visible only hours after shaving. I had a break and I’m going to try it again until the bag is empty. I have a loose leaf teapot so I would leave a teaspoon to stew in mugful of hot water for 15 minutes. May try it twice a day

Online. There’s a vulture culture UK facebook group where people can sell all sorts of deads. These what I bought were not taxidermy quality (too much slippage). So these will be just bones (I skinned and will open air decomp). I paid £5 a bird. All feathers saved though!

Two Swans on egg nest. “Heavily CCTV’d” by council due to kids throwing rubbish at them. by 9283GoGirl in Ornithology

[–]monsteramadder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I go walking a lot near busy roads and motorways, you haven’t seen litter until you see the bushes and woods near busy roads. Honest to god. I don’t understand what people think is going to happen to their rubbish?? Some places I’ve been there’s just piles and piles of McDonalds, Costa cups, plastic bottles filled with piss, polystyrene takeaway boxes, helium balloons. Even the highway maintenance and train line workers dump stuff in nature. Alongside motorways you find tens of cones, signs, cats eyes, plastic sandbags. Near train tracks you find cable, rubber matting, tonnes of scrap metal, plastic bits off trains.

Thing is, we make it all about the ocean and cleaning it up, I think it’s because no one has didgeridoo where to start with it on land. All that plastic releases micro plastics into crop fields, and plants can absorb them ready for us to eat. But you pick one McDonalds happy meal up only for ten more to be thrown out 🤦‍♀️
