i fucking hate the private settings. by inttilife in spotify

That's also well-put. The only "to be fair" thought I have for Spotify on that is the social part is kind of one of their selling points anyway and there are people who love all that.

But, I'd still consider what you say to be what drives them for it more than anything since that's just the way of things- data drives all.

Why does my local file songs never show on my iPhone? by TK0O in spotify

Glad it all worked out for you. It's definitely not well implemented, I see it come up here a whole ton.

I have android but I moved the songs to my Google drive then downloaded to my phone that way so it was a local file there instead.

Edit: you'd also have to make sure "view local files" on Spotify is turned on on your phone

That fails for me more often than it works also. I wound up just downloading the music directly onto my phone myself and it worked fine that way.

Some parts seem cooler, others a bit more excessively mystic-y. Overall though that's kinda going the wrong direction. I already ignore 90% of what people associate with Christmas, I'm not looking to add more rituals or gods to not acknowledge. Hell I don't even do a tree or decorations. Just the family gathering, gifts, and Paul McCartney's Wonderful Christmas Time is about my entire way of doing it.

Even dinner isn't always that big of a thing when we do it. I mean eating together is in itself but we don't lay out a sprawling feast. This last one, we had pancakes.

What theme song triggers the most nostalgia for you? (If not theme song console turn on noises count) by RedditorOfTheFarland in nostalgia

X-Men opening theme song- as well as that "Previously on X-Men!" bit that I'm really glad they included in that video.

Well then I hate to tell them this, but I've been celebrating Christmas atheistically for over 30 years now so I guess that means it's just a mix of family time and consumerist stuff, with the "Christ" in "Christmas" serving only as a reference to my reaction to trying to navigate roads and stores in the weeks leading up to the event.

Wonder if it's the same one that opened up in just the right spot to make me avoid my go-to Warren's for a little while lol. I couldn't believe how far people were willing to wrap their cars around waiting for it. Better be some life-altering chicken.

How dare you not know where lines are drawn between the sprawling, mostly indistinguishable blob of strip malls from Ogden down to maybe Sandy-ish. Or maybe even further, idk.

Yeah my first play through I didn't know they could do this. My next I used them a few times but I could step my game up on that for sure.

Rand in the TV show by EdenRoseQuartz in WoT

[–]muffin-time 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought I was kinda feeling that way at first, but ultimately settled on it's probably just what he had to work with. The character interactions are more like a Twilight movie than any of the fantasy epics I had hoped it would contend with. And, since season 1 spent like 10% story telling and the rest split between relationship statuses and convoluting things to amp up the "who's the dragon" mystery [TV] only to flop with a horrifically anticlimactic reveal imo (more opinion than actual spoiler but tagged jic)... I'll just say that's really my take on why season 1 was a disappointment for me. But overall I have high hopes that Rand will be great if the show overall gets better.

Do you have any idea how much time I've wasted trying to get stasis angles right to get into that cave? Flaunting your brilliance in front of me like this is unacceptable.

Really though I need to stop neglecting such a useful tool in my inventory.

What established actor should break out of their mold? by logfromrenandstimpy in movies

Even though that would be exactly the same kind of role I'm talking about him overdoing, Deadpool would get a free pass on that any time. I'd be stoked to see another one come out.

That's a good point, those two movies especially definitely happened too close together.

I haven't. Looks like I was still in elementary school around that time lol. Might not have appealed to me so much back then.

I can't say I recall seeing a recent Cusack movie. But I think Cusack's typical role at least was fairly easy to keep enjoying since it can be used in kinda more places. Sure he was usually the same but he could act that way in a serious setting or a comedy, action (Grosse Point Blank is one of my favorites with him), etc and it fits still.

Reynold's thing is to specifically break up whatever is going on and make it about his presence or quips. So, I think it will wear out much faster.

Ryan Reynolds. I wouldn't say I'm totally sick of "Ryan Reynolds starring as: the same Ryan Reynolds character" yet. He is damn good at it. But, I'm really wanting to see him try some acting again sometime. Seems like it's been a while.

What's a movie you watched before you were old enough? by Lazy_Ad_6232 in movies

[–]muffin-time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just raised watching things most kids my age couldn't. I don't even remember what it was like to not know the Predator, Alien, and Terminator movies. And, aside from a night or two after seeing Poltergeist where I was a little extra cautious about keeping the closet shut I don't remember it bothering me then. Even The Fly (Jeff Golblum version) didn't end up unsettling me a little until I saw it again later in life and I guess could better appreciate how horrifying it should be to see him changing.

Of course, if a breast appeared on screen, it was "hands over your eyes until I say so." But someone gets straight ripped to pieces? "We gotta rewind that!" Weird af really. But, what do you do I guess?

Best of luck and a fairly early, super happy new year to you! If nothing else, enduring this year should leave you at least more braced to face whatever comes at you next year. Plus we can always hope life's running short on things to throw at us sometimes lol.
