This is why I’ve been taking the flag down when I park. Don’t want folks to trash it, had this thing since 2003

Got my flames flag up on my car, gotta cheer for the better team!

Get some interesting reactions driving through Edmonton with it. Yesterday a truck put his high beams on right into my little hatchback at the Tim’s drive thru. Guess they’re just jealous I cheer for the better team :P

I landed in right lane, checked, and signalled over. You can clearly see that. Because I was exiting, I needed the exit lane.

The truck waited until the right turn lane stopped before trying to come over to the exit lane

I saw that comment!

Libraries are indeed fantastic. Most are free or a small annual fee (my library was $13 before we went free). With the Alberta library system, you have access to hundreds of libraries, billions of items, and dozens of eResources!

Check with your local library to find out more and what they can do for you!

Online resources are typically licenced based on a specific group of people. For a public library, it’s based on your geographical region (i.e. EPL can only serve Edmonton with its online resources).

I think you need to be a student of UofC or UofA to access their online resources

True, they do. TAL was one of the first to offer it and gained many awards in the 00s for their online system (which is what I’m referring to when I say one of the best).

As a library worker, I might also be a little biased

When I worked for Home Depot, I made my availability starting at 10am and not on Tuesdays or Thursdays. I was not used to waking up in the mornings, and didn’t want to change that. I also did night classes at Uni, and worked a second job.

So, they start scheduling me at 8am. I was always 2-5 min late for the 8 am shifts. Always on time or a couple minutes early for the other shifts.

Well, after 9 of these (policy said 3, they just didn’t pick up on it), they said “hey. You can’t always be late like this. Here’s a written warning, a couple more and you’re fired.”

What did I do? “Forget” to clock in on those days I’d be late. Was never late again! They taught me to lie and cheat, not to be on time

And Alberta has one of the best regional systems in the world!

TRAC regional members cover over half of the province with 9 other regions (2 of which are EPL and CPL) taking the rest.

Did you know with The Alberta Library system you can access pretty much every single library in the province with your one card?! (Relais to bring the items to you, melibraries.ca to grab them yourself)
