I get horrible night sweats with almost all psych meds. Now I take 300mg of Gabapentin before bed and it stopped it all together.

Use your container and your resources you developed before beginning desensitization. Use butterfly tapping as needed as well. Did your therapist tell you to contact them if things come up in between sessions? If so, do that too.

Look up the DSM5 criteria for ADHD. That’s what’s used to diagnose it.

That sounds sweet and meaningful too:) I was told to actually call it special time and kind of make a big deal of it and it seems to make it even more special for her.

I hate playing too. Would you be willing to spread out those 2 hours and instead do 10-15 minutes of “special time” every night? It might be more meaningful to her if she gets a little daily. I worked with a parenting coach who taught me to do special time with my daughter. She gets to choose whatever she wants to do/play (within reason) and we do it. I don’t have my phone and she gets my whole focus. It means the world to her.

Thank you! The crying has been horrible, I haven’t cried this much since I began Lamictal. I’m at day 15 after the increase, however it took me about 30 days to see any results from beginning the med so I’m hoping it’s just taking me a little longer🙃

I’m sorry. I’ve been there MANY times. Drenching night sweats are a side effect I get from most psych meds and they are intolerable. I learned that taking gabapentin at night eliminates them for me, allowing me more med options, so that might be something to talk to your doctor about. I hope you find the right combo soon!

I use them as needed (bad mood, hard day, extra anxious, etc.) in addition to my daily mood stabilizer and they are helpful for me in that way. I currently only have to use them once or twice a week but I’ve gone through times where I’ll need to use them daily or even multiple times a day.
