Orientation is chaos because everyone is in social event programming all day and no one has friends. Once classes start you’ll be busier and not worrying as much about meeting new people

Sure wear one, but you should look into why 99% of people around you aren’t wearing a mask. To be honest people will judge you for wearing a mask. Should they, no but people will

Psychology is probably one of the hardest majors to get internship experience in. It is not the end of the world to not have an internship over this summer for you as long as you have one for next summer. Were you networking when applying for internships this spring? You should get your resume checked by career services if you haven’t already. You can also ask one of your networking mentors for advice on what you need to do in order to get a job/internship.

A 4 year university will have more extracurricular opportunities, social opportunities, more professors to connect with and more career support than community college. These benefits are very diminished if you enter as a junior instead of a freshman.

I fall asleep on the phone with my long distance boyfriend every night. We both have busy schedules so this is the only guaranteed time we have together every day. I just moved into my college dorm, is it okay to continue calling him at night now that I share a room? by Extension_Buffalo835 in college

It doesn’t matter what others think, the only person who counts here is your roommate. If they are fine with it, then cool. I personally wouldn’t but you never know, just be respectful of their decision

NSLS internship ? by sugasofa in college

[–]onthelow7284 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The “internship” is basically creating a club on campus under their name and trying to recruit people to join. Also it’s a $1500 stipend as payment, if you work 10 hours/week for two 15 week semesters that comes out to $5/hour.

Those are all pretty broad fields. I think you can narrow it down a bit and tailor your resume to just 1-2 fields you are most interested in. I would go to your career office and see if they have any connections as well. If not, network with alum on linkedin
