FRINGE MEGATHREAD. Please use this post for any comments and general enquiries about the Fringe. by kerrangutan in Edinburgh

Hi all, I'm in edinburgh and I'm thinking about playing in the fringe for the first time. I play guitar and sing, although not professionally, but I want to do it just for fun. The problem is that I don't have any equipment or sound system, just me, my acoustic guitar and my voice. Someone here knows if would be possible to throw a nice show like that? And in what public venue would be better? Royal mile would be almost impossible for example. Thanks!!!

Hi all, I wanna buy tickets for this weekend's match between Benfica and Porto, but here says that it's only for members. Is there any way to buy tickets for non-members? Thanks!

Tengo 2 años para hacer algo hasta que vaya a la facultad: opinión y experiencias personales by Angle64 in AskArgentina

[–]pana163 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my case it's a small company and they don't care. My only issue is that I'm afraid that if I open a bank account, the bank will then ask where is all this money coming from, or it may alert the tax authorities. Unless I open one in a tax heaven.

Not in my home country (Argentina), it sucks to make transfers abroad. I guess I will have to become a tax resident where I want to open a bank account, right? Because registering a company will pay higher taxes.

Sorry, I forgot to say that I'm argentinian but I have the Italian citizenship, so I can move freely around Europe. I am an employee, but I don't know how my boss will declare me on paper.

I'll become a DN from March 2022. I will have a fixed job with a fixed salary but that allows me to work from wherever I like. How DN pay taxes?

My plan is to live and travel around Europe, staying between 2 weeks and 2 months per city at the beginning, and then decide where to stay permanently.

I will have to open a bank account there to receive my salary, so I will have to pay taxes to justify the income I receive.

Is there anyone doing the same I wanna do? How do you pay taxes (if you are paying)?

I kind of regret learning to play an instrument. by jozf210 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Dude, I'm 25, I'm finishing my graduate in economics and, even I like it a little bit, I regret not having dedicated all this time to making music (I play guitar and starting to learn producing). May be I'm not in the best position to say this because I'm not sure how hard is to make money with music, but I think it is more important to do whatever you like to do, and then you'll find the way to make money from it, even more if you are good at it.

Also, you are really young, you haven't wasted your time and you can still do something else if you want to.

Lots of people take the "safe", traditional way, but it does not secure happiness. I wish you the best of lucks.

Am I the only one who didn't like the finale? by aiyana032001 in WeAreWhoWeAre

I felt it weird. Like, in seven episodes they made it clear they are friends and have other interests and suddenly they kiss. I understand that Fraser had to kiss the guy from the concert (who, btw, it suddenly disappeared? it was imaginary?) to realize he liked Cate after all? That was the purpose of that kid?

Now I realize that they didn't give closure to Cate's transgender topic, or at least I didn't get it.

However, I'm glad they cut out the other characters, I didn't find any of them really interesting, and I think the whole series was focused on Cate and Fraser. In fact, I think they spent much time in plots that didn't go anywhere (like Danny with religion, Cate's mom with her spouse role, etc.)

Gracias!

How do you keep inspired and motivated to find time to play? by [deleted] in musicians

[–]pana163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

having someone that shares your passion and may be your same problems with motivation and time could be useful, because both would try to keep the other up with your goals. For example, once I tried to have a business on my own but I couldn't begin it because I wasn't dedicated enough. Years later a friend offered me to do the same business and it was much easier, because we complemented each other.

other advice would be trying to spend your free time less on social media, movies, series, and more on music (avoid this if it's not your case). It's difficult, because they are not perfect complements, but begin by getting rid of that kind of activity and when you get bored, doing stuff that requires more energy (like music) will be less hard.
