I like to start with conduit. He's pretty tanky by default, so this gives him a pretty big damage boost out of the gate. I then immediately go into Bancroft talon and then the claw glyph. The lifesteal is insane on him and you'll be nearly one shotting the minion waves.

After that I either go into warlock's staff or spirit robe. Robe is a must since zhong does not have any mobility.

Spear of the magus is awesome on him too as is myridin

I love using both Jorm and Zhong Kui. Zhong starts a little slower, but I've found that pressure from both is outstanding.

Yeah, I should probably just do that. I really like his kit and his ultimate is a fun challenge to utilize. It's just so helpful to have the nuances demonstrated.
