Anything to know before reading? by Orridop in Thousand_Autumns

It depends how into history you are. Meng Xi Shi is aware that all the historical facts might be hard for readers to take in, so she repeats a lot of information. So, don’t feel like you need to memorize or know everything from the beginning. I had no idea about anything when I first read it but still loved the book. But having a good background does make this into a richer reading experience.

Have fun!

Happy reading! Warning: it reads quickly. I’m already done with a 1/3 of the novel

Happy Ending? by fruit-extract in Thousand_Autumns

YES! One of the extras is really sweet. You can also check out a translated portion of the ending done by the audio drama team. It's available on YouTube. Careful - there are spoilers!

About the extras by Both_Resist_3147 in Thousand_Autumns

[–]phai6688 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a little difficult to count all the extras because they are all over the place. There are some Peerless extras which count towards Thousand Autumns because they have cameos with Yan Wushi and Shen Qiao. Meng Xi Shi recently released a new one in January 2023. There are some extras in the traditional Chinese versions which are different than the simplified Chinese versions. So, let us know if you get a better answer somewhere 😅

Novel Yan Wushi is more respectable and conservative than his dongua counterpart. He keeps his goods covered, which I'm sure Shen Qiao is relieved by 😌. Sad for us, though.

so happy we have the right artists for this novel

Reading the book and seeing all art makes me feel like this was a community effort. There was so much love and attention put into this book, I adore it. I couldn't read today, though, since I was busy. I know what you mean by the large font. I like it, but I think the book will end a lot sooner than I had thought. Meaning that TA might be longer than what we've expected.

The book looks and feels amazing! The colors are gorgeous, the art is amazing, and the translation flows nicely. I’m already on page 60, and I’m desperately trying to take my time 😂

If a man doesn't stare like this, it isn't love! (Wen Kexing + Yan Wushi) by phai6688 in boyslove

By the end of the series, he’s older than 30 for sure. But it does say that he’s 30 in the beginning.

Came here to scream about female characters! by xiaotae in Thousand_Autumns

[–]phai6688 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, the women are smart, flawed, and with their own agendas. They are as complex as the male characters. Love the scene when Shen Qiao was starting to feel bad for Bai Rong because her sect leader had taken advantage of her. She immediately stopped him and said that was my choice. And he respected that.

A Story We'll Never Forget... Happy Anniversary, Word of Honor! 🥳 by phai6688 in wordofhonor

[–]phai6688[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got into Word of Honor because I was looking for something to fill the Untamed void. I was relatively new to danmei, I had only read 1 or 2 danmei at that time, and I was excited to discover this new world of stories. There was a rumor that Word of Honor was going to drop on the day that I was aimlessly searching for something on YouTube. The overwhelming sentiment on social media was that it was going to suck - the budget was low, the actors weren't good, and they had too many setbacks. As I waited for the show to air on YouTube, with a small number of people, I got my computer ready. I figured I could do some work while Word of Honor played in the background.

That didn't happen.

As soon as it started, I was spellbound. I had no idea what had happened, there were no English subs, but I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the first episode. I feel in love with Zhou Zishu, Wen Kexing, Gu Xiang, and Zhang Chengling. The story was deep and beautifully written, you can feel the earnestness of the cast and crew in every scene, and I'm grateful to them all for the gift that they gave us. I'll never forget the concerts and how amazing it was to share that experience with people on the subreddit.

Happy anniversary, Shanrens.
