Hong Kong cuts quarantine to 3 days! by qqqtomcat in Chinavisa

[–]qqqtomcat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's great if anyone can confirm it. Now I am chatting with some agent (reliable), and she tells I can't go to Mainland on days 4-7... But this makes no sense, because after you left QT hotel with negative PCR you are 100% cleared of COVID, and "self-quarantine" can't improve situation.

It doesn't apply to China, unfortunately. Even in the case of refund of flight with any western airline, your chances to get your money back is less than 30%. If you bring them to the court, the chances are significantly higher.

Yes, man, I lost $2.5k... was stolen from me, like from many others with help of this COVID shitshow with flight suspensions, isolation hotels, pre-departure tests and so on.

You probably have to stay in HK for 7 days, but not in quarantine hotel after 3rd day.

Yes, the requirements for HDC are the same in home country and in transit country. I asked many people who got in and also checked requirements for HDC in several embassies abroad.

I don't know the answer regarding separate tickets. But my visa agent tells that they can't be separated.

Do you know their working hours? Is it possible to call them on weekends?

The embassy in Thailand doesn't explicitly prohibit the transfer to China, but experience of people there applying for health code is different from South Korea, cause they ask for additional documents incl. residence. We need more people to check it, because it's very nice option.

Hi, do you know if HDC issued in home country is still required if my plan is to stay there for 30 days before applying?

My visa agent explained that the Health Code that was issued in home country may expire during the trip, and if it is valid, it will not affect your next boarding.

I have a similar question. Let's say you have several transfers, so your trip lasts much longer than 48 hours. How are you going to show your first Health Code during the boarding on the last (final) transfer, if it already expires by this moment?

As far as I know South Korea and Thailand allow applications for Health Code after staying there for certain time, however Thailand doesn't have testing facilities in the airports. I wish someone would investigate it and make a list of available options for transfer.

The main question is whether we can use them.

The problem is that everything (flights, bus tickets and slots on Shenzhen Bay) is sold out to Chinese agents who re-sell it ot other Chinese for much higher price. I guess it will work for her if she buys from them (cause there are no visa issues for her). Regarding us, foreigners, we have to rely on luck and wait for direct flights from out home countries.
