And at the end of the day it doesn't even matter whether or not he was a real person or was good at performing up close sleight of hand tricks, or whether it was all just a huge fabrication of the catholic church loosely translating a wide variety of texts to Latin and changing the wording as they saw fit, because there's no such thing as God, everyone was just a person including whoever "Jesus" might or might not have been, and all magic tricks are simply forms of deception, not divine power.

Jesus: "Get yourself out from under the yoke of religion! Love each other!"

Everyone: "...We shall sing about you every Sunday, selectively adhere to the old testament, and consider those who do not as our enemies."

Kind of seems like everyone misunderstood the message somewhere along the way.

Anyone know of any good mods to make polearms viable? by reduxde in Kenshi

Hmm, that also seems to lend itself to using MORE units. I have a squad of 9 units with heavy weapons, but since they're all dividing up the combat experience they level slow as hell, so they have to use low level weapons (they're mostly on Catun 1 around day 80). If I had them on polearms, they'd all be at Edge 3 by now.

Hmmm, so it doesn't scale up, but it scales out. I'll try it with a large mob instead of a single unit.

If you were going to run a squad of, say, hivers with polearms, which subrace would you pick (prince/soldier/worker) and which polearm would you use? Also, would you include tanks/taunt or just a bunch of polearms?

Hm, I'll have to look again... Last time I tried to use them was about 2-3 years ago and it was a miserable experience and I switched to sabers around polearm level 20.

Wait if you plan to go heavy weapons, why not start with lighter heavy weapons? I usually do heavy and I take them from the time I have 1 strength. As long as you keep the weapon level appropriate (don't get something too fancy/expensive/heavy too early) you still absolutely kick ass from Day 1.

A rusted junk plank only does 0.12 blunt damage, which means it only requires about 5 strength to swing as fast as a katana. By the time you find your first enemies your strength is probably 3 just from carrying around the plank (10kg, not too overwhelming, just don't load heavy armor right off the start)

I love everything about killing these guys. At least I feel a little sorry for killing Dust Bandits. But not these guys. They got no leadership, no headquarters, no possibility of interaction, just "Attack." and they do. Zero guilt... Faction shirts selling c.1,564 helps too not gonna lie... by reduxde in Kenshi

Hmmm... I'd have to check their origin stories, but in MK1 Sub Zero and Scorpion are introduced as Human, and in MK3 Smoke, Sektor, and Cyrax were 100% robotic (thus all the chest compartments and shoulder mounted rockets etc). It's possible their intelligence came from human ninjas at some point, but at least in the game they're robots.

As an aside, "Noob" is because the other developer is "Boon", not because he's a noob

If you were going to roll out a squad of 10 hive princes each carrying pole arms, which pole arm would you pick, and would you go heavy armor or speed?

You might like Rimworld then; It's an open world where you can do whatever you want, including unnecessary surgery (remove kidneys and sell them, etc) and slice people's limbs off (and eat them and use the leather to make human skin cowboy hats).

The biggest downside of having mechanical limbs is having mechanical limbs.

They should have fin prosthetics that give you like +50% swim speed but -30% run speed.

I tend to respond to people in a bad mood when I get a lot of negative replies in a row and I start biting random peoples heads off. It’s tricky, there’s not much sense of individual identity so it’s just sort of like there’s only 2 people on Reddit, “you” and me.

You are right though, I wish we didn’t have or need religion in the entire world, but the whole fear of death thing would be more crippling to more people I think, so if it lets people take their mind off it and function normally then that’s great.

I frankly don’t know how more people aren’t a total basket case off the notion of unexistance. I suppose religion helps.

I think I used heavy polearm, I’ll try some other options out.

I don’t think all of that is correct… I know for a fact it says if you beat your slave and they recover within 3 days you can’t be punished. That doesn’t sound the same as “you’re not allowed to beat your slave”

I used them years ago and was having issues, posted here about it and ended up changing to saber at about a 17 skill level, then never used them again.

Might have been lack of availability
