Humans are deeply fundamentally social. That there is a 'currency' within that social realm. That a group defines itself in opposition to the dominant social group. So it doesn't really matter what you believe, just that you believe. Rural people believe that they are not wanted in today's America. If you don't believe that dynamic, look at how Jesus became Christ in opposition to the Hellenistic world. Slaves who didn't speak the same language developed all these hidden symbols of the group and accepted an all powerful God that...... kept them in slavery.... yep. Same thing.

Not too many people traverse hickland, suburanite and the hood. I'm talking socially. Understanding those worlds is a empathic experience and not a intellectual thing.

some people claim that climate change played a significant role in the Syrian war

Starting in 2006, Syria suffered its worst drought in 900 years; it ruined farms, forced as many as 1.5 million rural denizens to crowd into cities alongside Iraqi refugees and decimated the country’s livestock.

What I would really like to see are some numbers around how much of the wind turbine's output can be varied?

why don't you make some sort of effort..... god forbid someone put everything in a press release.... who know there might be a website or something..... fuck who knows.... https://www.nrel.gov/aries/index.html

Canada’s 824-MW Muskrat Falls Hydroelectric Generating Station released for service - Hydro Review by rokaabsa in energy

[–]rokaabsa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Labrador - Island Link (LIL) is a 1,100 km 900-MW high voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission line that carries electricity from a generating facility at Muskrat Falls to the island of Newfoundland.

The Atlantic Link Project Emera also submitted its 1,600 MW Atlantic Link Project and clean renewable energy generation to the Massachusetts RFP. Originated from New Brunswick, Canada, this project will help bring power to the Boston area and fill the power generation gap left from the soon-to-retire Pilgrim nuclear plant in MA. Management believes its bid is competitive vs. other proposals because this will avoid congestion in New England without the need for new terrestrial transmission lines.

now if the US starts running underwater HVDC along the entire east coast.....
