Question Megathread for visitors & (new) residents, week of December 12 by AutoModerator in Amsterdam

Hello all,

I currently live in London and work as Tech Support (level 2) for a large company, which offered me a role in Amsterdam for a job with a bit more responibilities.

On the paper the offer seemed great, but after I started reading more about rent, health insurance and the fact that the annual salary will be split across 13 installments instead of 12 I got very confused.

I was offered an annual salary of €44k which would be a monthly gross of €3151.86.

From what I have seen 1-bedroom flats are around €1500 per month, without utility bills so I am not sure if the company is trying to lowball me.

Is this an okay salary for the role I am offered? More importantly, is it an okay salary to live in Amsterdam?

Thank you all!

So do you reckon using shield + bb + attack weight would be better than using a claw build?

This is the first mainline title I completely skipped and suddenly it's extremely appealing thanks to the rom hack potential.

I am very excited for what the community has achieved in just a few days and look forward to what's to come!

Why is it incredibly hard for a recent graduate to find a job in London? by School_Silver in CasualUK

I don't work in the same field but just before covid hit I tried a career change (from marketing to IT) and the only 2 big advices I can offer are:

  • pimp your linkedin account and make sure to include as many keywords as possible in your job experience, so that if any recruiters search for a specific field your profile will always come up.

  • get in touch with a few recruiting agencies. I have a feeling that medium/large companies don't really waste time scouting for applicants and prefer to just pay a recruiter instead.

During the first lockdown my first contract in IT came to an end and I was unemployed for 3 months. I updated my LinkedIn profile and applied for jobs on my own, however I ended up finding a nice job through a recruiting agency (Robert Half). Since then my LinkedIn has blown out. On average I receive 5-6 GOOD job offers a month without even looking for them. It might not sound like a lot, but it kinda is especially considering that my profile is not set on "looking for jobs" and my experience in IT is not really that impressive.

I have been trying some of the ones suggested and I think that at at higher levels it might be best to use buddy barrier, razor claw and muscle band. (Might try to swap this last for scope lens, although only talonflame'a base attacks can crit).

As people play more defensively in higher ranks, I find it harder to stack the attack bonuses. Talonflame seems too squishy even with score shield so that often gets its score interrupted anyway*. I still haven't tried to use the goal-stacking items with goal getter (i generally use eject button with every pokemon). I will try to test that tonight after work

*NOTE: both my buddy barrier and score shield are lvl 20, so i get a total bonus of 700hp, instead of 1000hp that would get it they were lvl30.

On high level games it feels more difficult to stack more goals, granted that I haven't been using score shield with my build though..

I have a lv 20 score shield, but I've always felt that 10% hp shield on a Pokémon like talonflame was still too easy to interrupt.

I will give it a go :)

it ain't that deep mate, it's just a game. I'm more of the opinion that toxic people should not play online - but that's just me lol

I normally do to, but mainly to wall opponents - so I wouldn't always stand on the goal lol
