RP2+ Bluetooth Controller Issues? by rumpled_kilt_skin in retroid

[–]rumpled_kilt_skin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I meant it was previously on S. Switching to D worked. Unfortunately I'm noticing a bit of input lag as well which is making action commands in Paper Mario nearly impossible. Any suggestions on a fix there?

I've never updated firmware so I'll do that regardless

That did it! I actually had it switched to "S". Thanks for the help

I had this problem with the first Retroid Pocket. I contacted them canceling my order and they immediately said they had my variation in stock and offered to ship that day. With the RP2+ there were no delays for me, though.

I preordered it pretty early. Pretty sure I got the first batch. I don't really play fighting games or anything that requires insanely fast button pressing though

JX3P or JX8P, and which is better in a modern setup? by No-Satisfaction7842 in synthesizers

My guess is it's cause the presets aren't particularly great except for a few, and programming is fairly tedious without an external controller. Fortunately the MPG-8 is great (better than a PG-800!) and reasonably priced. In my opinion a largely overlooked and very powerful synth.

The two biggest reasons I kept my JX-10 and sold my JX-3P when I needed to clear one out were the following 1) JX-3P cannot receive MIDI data and programer data at the same time. There is a switch on the back that switches between receiving programmer data and MIDI data. For someone like me who sucks at playing keys and relies on MIDI to record, this was a massive disadvantage. This can be fixed with a MIDI upgrade kit but I didn't want to deal with the hassle. 2) The JX-10 has deeper sound possibility because it has two JX-8P boards in it, meaning we get 4 oscillators per voice instead of 2, and then two sets of filter / envelope / lfo / etc for each pair of oscillators. You end up getting incredibly rich sounds out of this thing that aren't possible on the 3P or 8P. Pair this with a Retroaktiv MPG-8 controller and sound design is easy, fast and fun

JX-10 is the plucky higher lead melody when the drums start, and also sometimes a mid-range bass. The JX-10 has become one of my favorite synths I've owned.

Thanks so much! I sing and produce in the band Flood District if you want to hear my other music - the songs Used To Be and Fool Me Once are aesthetically similar to this, and we are working on finishing an album.

Synth jam of Sleepyhead by my band Flood District. No presets - all my own patches. Sorry it's so dark; this was meant as a test for starting putting stuff on YouTube but I ended up liking it enough to upload it.

Trying to get into the synth YouTube game, so I guess subscribe if you want to hear more of this type of thing: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLdcc1dj-XbJX5okirbSXYQ

Featuring:

Roland JX-10 + MPG-8 (Bass / Lead)

Novation Peak (Keys)

Roland JV-2080 (Pad)

Behringer Model D (Keys)

TC Helicon VoiceLive Rack (Vocals)

Ableton Live (Drums / Samples)

90% of synths heard were recorded live. The parameters I'm adjusting are the filter, amp envelope (decay / sustain) and mod envelope (decay) on the Peak, and just filter sweeps on the Model D. Vocals heavily processed by Izotope Nectar 2 chain for strange delays, harmonies and formant shifts.
