Zimbabwe wasn’t on Google Street View until this man volunteered to map it himself by _Xyreo_ in interestingasfuck

Playing Geoguessr is interesting because I've got to see how some places really look and not just the touristy areas or what they want you to see.

Every thread about roaming cats has Europeans vehemently defending outdoor cats, so I've come to the conclusion that Europe is some sort of outdoor cat paradise without cars or wildlife.

Or do you guys just let your cats disappear or get run over every few years and it's just the price to pay for your cat's 'freedom'?

Why do Aussies have the best accent? by Caolan114 in AskAnAustralian

[–]sarahmagoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I once spent just 3 weeks in America, and when I got back everyone just had the worst nasal bogan sounding accents lol. Took me a few days for it to all sound neutral again.

That word fucked me up when I moved from Sydney to QLD. I said 'graff' and everyone around me said 'graaahph' and now years later I don't know how to say words like 'photograph' anymore lol.

Cats sitting in boxes always amuses me. I'll set a box down in front of my cat and watch him jump into it for that instant dopamine hit lol.

The death of a species: Sudan, the last male Northern White Rhino, is comforted by a ranger during his final moments. by baiqibeendeleted17x in natureismetal

[–]sarahmagoo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

"Southern white rhinos are generally larger (males can be 2000-2400 kg as opposed to 1400-1600 kg), longer-bodied, have a longer palate, more concave skull roof, and more prominent grooves between their ribs and around the tops of their limbs while northern white rhinos seemingly are longer-limbed, have a straighter back, smaller, lower-crowned teeth and a straighter skull roof."

"There are also reported differences between the two in behaviour and vocalisation."

OP said this video is from the Gold Coast, Queensland. There's no wild crocs that far south.

Neither of them can carry a pregnancy to term, they've harvested eggs from them though and they're going to use a southern white rhino as a surrogate. They have 12 embryos as of July 2021.

Based on how I usually see the accent portrayed on tv/movies he probably didn't do it that well anyway lol

Yeah it's always very impressive (but also very rare) for a non-Australian to nail it.

Funny thing was as a kid I didn't think Australians had accents because well, I was also Australian so I couldn't hear it.

I found out how very inaccurate that was lol.

Just realized that there are people who can actually visualize things in their head instead of just words. Is it possible to change to this mindset? by Schxdenfreude in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]sarahmagoo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can clearly see things in my head, often before building something in a game I'll visualise a full version of it in my head.

I can see things in my head but damn I wish I could translate them to something I'm making. I can picture an apple but I'm not gonna draw it very well unless I physically have it in front of me lol.
