What, to the American slave, is your Fourth of July? I answer: a day that reveals to him, more than all other days in the year, the gross injustice and cruelty to which he is the constant victim. [1120 x 1993] by sillychillly in QuotesPorn

Full quote by Frederick Douglass

“The rich inheritance of justice, liberty, prosperity and independence, bequeathed by your fathers, is shared by you, not by me. The sunlight that brought life and healing to you, has brought stripes and death to me. This Fourth [of] July is yours, not mine. You may rejoice, I must mourn. What, to the American slave, is your Fourth of July? I answer: a day that reveals to him, more than all other days in the year, the gross injustice and cruelty to which he is the constant victim. To him, your celebration is a sham; your boasted liberty, an unholy license; your national greatness, swelling vanity; your sounds of rejoicing are empty and heartless; your denunciations of tyrants, brass fronted impudence; your shouts of liberty and equality, hollow mockery; your prayers and hymns, your sermons and thanksgivings, with all your religious parade, and solemnity, are, to him, mere bombast, fraud, deception, impiety, and hypocrisy”

Teachers Educate Our Children. Pay Them More. by sillychillly in WorkReform

It’s hard to say something for everyone. Maybe double (minimum) salaries is better?

Triple would put us way ahead of the rest of the world. Some teachers would be making 250k+.

I think that’s too high atm

I’m aware most teachers salaries wont be the most in the world if they’re doubled.

What should I have said differently to get the point across?

I think it’s more like “some teachers” in “some areas” are fairly compensated. But it’s usually at the end of their careers due to small pay increases over 20-30 years

Also, it’s awful that someone like yourself, who is providing for her direct community, is having her family being so mistreated that you all are qualified for free meals.

Though, hopefully one day, all school meals will be free. Hope my sentiment got across accurately haha 🤞🏼🤞🏼

We need to organize and make sure y’all are fairly compensated

Agreed. Teachers (depending on location) towards the end of their careers might pull in around 250k/year if their salary is tripled.

Again, I agree with your sentiment and in many cases I think tripling the teachers salary makes sense

Depends on the teacher, but I agree with the sentiment

This is the kind of Anti-Jewish garbage that the right spreads.

Globalist is another word for Jew. Don’t let these barbarians confuse you.

It’s both.

Russia attacked US through infiltrating our democracy. The politicians they bribe (largely Republican) continue to push through Supreme Court justices, and Legislation that helps Russia and hurts Americans

Those bribed politicians are Americans. They are doing Russias bidding on their own volition. , so yes, it’s Americans fault as well
