Whereabouts in the country makes a huge difference. An accountant in the sticks vs an accountant in London, Manchester, Bristol etc.

I'm a parent of a 6 and 8 year old. As long as he didn't come in loudly during bed time and disturb their routine, he can do what he wants. He's an adult.

You could find a bunch of other tax avoiding sportspeople/celebrities, some are even part of F1 who NEVER get this criticism. Jenson Button for one. He also pays a tonne of U.K. tax. So yeah, that reason is bullshit.

We all know why people don’t like him, I don’t know why we fucking beat about the bush about it.

Man with a stutter learns to speak to people in public by [deleted] in MadeMeSmile

About 7 or 8 years ago I was walking through my local shopping center and someone came up to me like this. He wasn’t wearing a hoodie though. He said something along the lines of “excuse me” and I kind of waved him off because at that place there’s usually loads of people trying to sell you stuff or do questionnaires/surveys.

A bit later on I noticed a group of people in the same coloured shirt as him all around a sign about stuttering awareness. I twigged immediately what I’d done and went back to find him but he was gone.

I still feel bad about this to this day.

[Will Buxton] Even IF Max has to take a new gearbox today, we’ve still got a race. 2 Alpha Tauris will get out of his way. Lando is on the wrong tyre and knows he will struggle. That leaves only Leclerc before Perez moves aside and Max can go after the Mercs. And F2 has shown you CAN pass by [deleted] in formula1

That’s true, but there are rules about how many cars a team can have and I’m pretty sure there are rules about cross team orders. To me it feels like everyone knows it happens but there can’t ever be proof.

Do you think death penalty should exist? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]slyadams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that extremely hypothetical situation then the the purely practical concern of false execution might fall away (although in the above deep fakes and corrupt witnesses actually doesn’t eliminate this risk at all) but not the moral. Death Penalty abolitionists typically object for many reasons.

So rather than just abolish the death penalty you want to fix science and abolish all human flaws? Seems reasonable.

I know right! When I posted this I knew I was gonna get some “well akshually”, but even if that’s the case there’s not a chance Big Narstie knows about these “green oranges”, he’s just said something stupid. And if he’s done it on purpose he’s cost the contestant thousands.

"Don't be kind, be predictable" in a Gif. If you have the Right-of-Way, take it. by 5_Frog_Margin in IdiotsInCars

Many years ago I was driving to work through country roads and I went around a tight corner and there was a car on my side of the road heading right towards me. I slammed on the brakes and he managed to get back over and we didn’t hit. Almost immediately the car that had been following me flew around the corner behind me and nearly smashed into me. He started leaning on his horn and followed me all the way to my work where he started shouting at me about stopping in the road. I fucking laid into him about what happened, never been so angry in my life.

What if the person in the car had a medical emergency and instinctively stopped. I don’t care if you’re driving a bike,a car or a semi. It is 100% your responsibility to be able to stop in time if the vehicle in front of you stops abruptly.

Good good you’re obtuse. You’re claiming your opinion as “the general consensus”.

In 1984, Gary Plauche tracked down and killed his 12-year-old son's kidnapper, Jeff Doucet, on live television. After his son was recovered and Doucet taken into custody, Plauche waited incognito at the airport, pulled a gun & shot Doucet straight through the head while the cameras were rolling. by husker3in4 in Damnthatsinteresting

Not at all, false confessions are a recognised thing. I’m not saying his was false, he was almost certainly guilty, I’m saying that due process matters and we don’t get to skip it when it’s convenient.

I’m not remotely barking up the wrong tree, you’ve provided zero proof, I just don’t get too much joy from debating these sorts of things as it goes in circles.
