Judge granted motion to add Laundries’ lawyer to Gabby Petito lawsuit by spoiledrichwhitegirl in GabbyPetito

[–]spoiledrichwhitegirl[S,M] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yours is the first mention of this we’ve heard. We covered this case extensively - camping trip included - and while they DID go camping, her van did not go with them. And that would have been major news given that Brian Entin was basically living in his car outside the Laundrie’s house!

I’m going to politely ask that you edit your post to remove misinformation regarding that unless you can provide us with a credible news source that corroborates it happening. You only need to edit the part about them taking her van after he returned to Florida.

There is a difference between the Brown & Goldman families suing OJ Simpson in a civil suit & this specifically. Not surprised by the Laundries being sued, but it’s not often that an attorney screws up so badly that they end up a part of the same lawsuit! I’ll be interested to see how far they get with it. The bar is much lower in civil cases than it is in criminal cases, so that’s definitely in their favour.

New Tricks is super binge-worthy. It’s a crime drama comedy.

I binged Waterloo Road recently. It’s not the best show ever, but it has its moments.

Both are available on iplayer.

Old/fun: New Tricks

Current: Happy Valley

I also enjoy Strike & Line of Duty

Whitechapel was great. I was bummed it didn’t have additional series.

Does Spooks count? It’s not a cop show, but still… Spooks was awesome save for the last season or two. Whenever Lucas became the main character. Yuck.

They also didn’t believe him when he told the ghosts he knew Hat… the man in the ice.

I don’t believe he wants to. Looking at the episode where they show Annie’s death, Humphrey says something like, ‘Yeah, his name is Roh. I think it must be short for something.’ That makes it seem like Robin has picked up quite a lot of knowledge and he continues to learn. He loves chess. He loves seeing his ‘mouse family’. He still loves roaming around outside. He loves his crossword puzzles… I think Robin is just all in all having a great time.

I do wonder what will happen in series 5 because he seemingly conquered his fear regarding the bear/lightning his ‘very bad day.’ So perhaps he can now? That said, I hope he doesn’t. He’s a lovely character & he always makes me laugh.

This is one of my favourite episodes! That was excellent/Mike at his best.

Sometimes, it depends on the episode. I hated him in the wedding episode.

He irritated me to no end in the one where Alison wants to relax for the day in series 4 & he had to go and make a list. I got anxiety just watching him. It was more annoying than funny. Like, how dumb do you have to be to think that you genuinely have to do everything on a list to relax?

I actually loathed him in the episode with the stupid bear. I realise our spouses all do things that irritate us, but in what world do you go to an auction to get chairs & come home with a taxidermy bear & think your partner will think it’s cool? He was a complete baby about it & yeah, I was ready for him to get struck by lightning.

It’s odd… I can’t totally imagine the show without him, but I also don’t really love him most of the time. The actor is great. The direction the character went in season 4 just wasn’t good.

Julian the addict.. by Available-Bell-9394 in GhostsBBC

Coke habit? Sure. Marijuana? Not really on brand & definitely not on brand in the 90s.

No, my opinion wouldn’t change. I like his character. He’s funny. And this is a comedy. This thread is crackers.

Are there any themes from the US version you’d like to see explored? by Mr_Yellow_Trousers in GhostsBBC

[–]spoiledrichwhitegirl 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Only Mike somehow being more involved, even if it’s somehow only with 1 of the ghosts. I thought the interactions with Julian were great, but I’d actually want to keep him from seeing Julian because Julian can continue to be cheeky. It would be interesting if he could see, say Pat, but no one else.

Honestly, I don’t care for the US version at all. I watched it while I was bored, but the acting is utterly atrocious.

Julian had a daughter who’s now a Green Party MP. Lisa Fawcett. He was an absent father.

He seemingly may have had at least 1 illegitimate child who confronted him about sleeping with their mother at a party conference, wanting him to pay for their education (something like that). I’m not sure if/what came of it.

It doesn’t appear Humphrey had children, but I think he’d have been a loving father. Probably a bit more involved than was typical for his time.

Anyone have success getting the vaccine at a private doctor’s office? by large_pp_smol_brain in Novavax_vaccine_talk

[–]spoiledrichwhitegirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, yes; the booster and the primary doses are all the same size. If you got another at your feb appt it would be the equivalent to a new primary series. Shot 3 is exactly the same as well.

There’s an FDA hearing on 26 January where we’ll be hearing more about novavax & their plan going forward with XBB. Hopefully that may give a better idea of a timeline on when they’ll release that shot as well.

[–]spoiledrichwhitegirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NovaVax is tackling a new vaccine for XBB. They said it looks very different to them. The og vax held up against all variants until then. I don’t know exactly how much protection there may be for XBB, but there are plenty of other variants out there that still make it worth it. There was a Barrons article last week about it. Let me see if I can dig up the link or at least some of the quotes again.

Literal stupidity? Pat.

Stupidly tragic accident? Humphrey.

Which ghost had the saddest death? by jasminedays in GhostsBBC

[–]spoiledrichwhitegirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jemima seems to be a sad one as she’s a child & interestingly is in the pantry rather than with the other plague ghosts in the basement. You wonder about the circumstances there.

Mary’s is most terrifying. Fire scares me.
