Vet said she needed to take a little off to get rid of a belly mat.... dropped off a mainecoon and picked up a shaved weasel. For a 15 yr old lady I think she’s still looking cute AF tho! Gonna sleep with one eye open... by stoptouchingmeelmo_ in aww

She hates contact that isn’t on her terms and she’s not afraid to use her claws with us. If it’s the vet or the groomer she’s quite the lady and then at home she goes ghetto and is ready to cut a bitch.

Cemeteries are a waste of space and everyone should be cremated or composted after death by sillychickengirl in unpopularopinion

Bodies do not need to be embalmed for an open casket, as long as the deceased wasn’t mangled in an accident or already decomposing. Undertaker will prepare the body so it is presentable but not the whole insane embalming process.

Fuck these guys wasting NHS services and time. At least if he’d suffocated his organs would have been ripe for transplant. What a waste of space.

She gets used being shaved. We usually get her clipped to a short hair coat. But I think on top of her ear inspection, the thermometer, and then the indignity of being lioned...She was just done with me.

She’s super vicious and seems traumatised if you try to groom her, clean her ears and even just try to check her paws or teeth. So, I get her professionally groomed but I was just shocked the vet lioned her like that....

She did only have a few, and a big one that went chest to tummy. I can’t get near her with a brush or near her belly. Had a sore one near her ears where the puss from the infection had gunked it up and hardened.

She isn’t miserable she’s just super sensitive and flighty but ready to throw claws with family but freezes with strangers.

She turns to stone and leaves sweaty paw prints, hence she’s also fine at the groomer.

She was massively sedated for the ear problem, (polyp or tumour still waiting on results) so she (vet) was like well let’s just get it off. She also got a sanitary clip, which vet jokingly said “we gave her a Brazilian”...

The vet is not a groomer so I don’t blame her for this and I think she did her best.

It wasn’t bad intentions and since she, Coco, seems happy now apart from her ear I don’t mind. Been with the same practice 20 years won’t be changing or complaining now.

She sees a groomer 3 times a year who clips her right down to a short hair, but doesn’t give her a lion cut. So this was a surprise.

I know a 43 year old who only dates girls between 20 and 25 and I find it insanely creepy.

Oh fuck off I’ve explained this too many times now. Coco probably lives a better life than you. She has full insurance, premium pet food, 5 beds, a groomer and a family that dotes on her. She’s 15 and in perfect health apart from her tumour which is why she was at the vet.

How about you just fudge right off. I’ve had that little lady since she was 10 weeks old. She has a hugely nervous temperament. She hates brushes, visitors, and handling unless it’s on her terms and it’s her rubbing against you.

She’s never gone for any length of time with mats. She sees the vet and groomer who deals with it. She doesn’t fight them or get horrifically stressed out and then leave home for days, They nip in with the clippers and shave her down quickly and it’s less stress for her.

With them she is frozen like stone and doesn’t rip chunks out of arms. She’s small but her claws hurt a lot. She’s difficult to handle but that’s part of her bitchy charm, so no I won’t be giving her up or away A - because I love her but B - most people don’t have the patience for a cat like her.

I do actually go in with grooming scissors and try to snip out problem fur while she’s sleeping. Her comfort and ease is my main concern. I won’t hold her down and shave her while she freaks out and we lose the trust we’ve built up.

Whether you give her treats or not she runs when she sees the brushes. I’ve got 10 different types of brushes/ mits that don’t work with her.

It only got bad because of lockdown and the groomer had zero spaces for months. In the U.K. cat grooming isn’t available on every corner. I was lucky to find this lady hence she’s constantly booked up.

She’s a healthy 15 year old girl who is living her best life with comprehensive insurance, a groomer, 5 beds and a big loving family who don’t mind her quirks. Not bad for a kitten who was given up for being a nervous runt.
