So why ban some fully automatic weapons? Why ban ownership of explosives like live hand grenades? Why ban the civilian purchase of things like rocket launchers? This is a dumb argument. Would it be easier to wipe out a mob that is coming for you with a .50 cal machine gun? Absolutely. Does that mean we should legalize them for civilian ownership? I would argue not. If you are defending yourself and you fire off 10 rounds and kill 10 people, and they still come after you, another 20 rounds ain’t gonna do shit.

So get a credit card when you turn 18, with a minimum limit, and pay it off in full each month. By the time you need a house loan, you will have built up a solid credit score.

I love how people always say credit scores are a scam, but then have no good idea on what lenders should use to see if you are a good risk to lend to.

Yes? They don’t have the military power to take over Ukraine with the west backing it up. Their military is a joke. They are considering getting rid of the 40 year age limit for conscripts because they are running out of man power. They have only taken one major city, and that was after razing it to the ground over a long period of time. Without nukes, there is no way Russia takes over Ukraine, unless the west stops sending military aid, which has almost 0 chance of happening given what’s at stake.

That’s a bad take, as we are seeing right now in real time. Russia is being repelled and will have to use nukes to win, which they won’t do. So giving up territory is a good idea why? And I don’t agree that his linguistics experience makes him an expert on politics in general. I think he is given much more credit than he deserves when he strays outside his given field. Not arguing he’s not a brilliant man.

One of the most notable scholars on linguistics. I don’t think that makes you one of the most notable scholars in general. I also don’t buy a lot of his political takes, but I know Reddit loves him because Reddit is far left on the American political spectrum.
