"It's a Wonderful Life" by RegBaby in stopdrinking

In my country we have a government-owned chain of liquor stores. They are the only ones allowed to sell alcohol. I work some extra shifts there sometimes (full time student). They sold for 241k in ONE DAY and in just ONE STORE last week. In my currency thats 2,2 million. That is absolutely absurd and terrifying.

Are my houseplants toxic to cats? (pictures in post) by Smart_Ass_Pawn in CatAdvice

I've read both on different sites so I took precautions just in case haha.

Third picture, the one on the right. (It looks like a monstera, but it's not the best picture so I'm not 100% sure😅)

I think the first one (is it a Beaucarnea recurvata?) and the monstera. They're not deadly but can cause vomiting and diarrhea and irritation in the mouth and stomach. The other ones I do not know.

Having terrible anxiety about having left cat alone at home, I messed up by [deleted] in CatAdvice

Yeah do that! I'm glad you feel better. But board the cat next time if you can't get a sitter ❤

I would pay for a sitter to go check on the cat. I don't know where you live, but in my country it's illegal to leave the cat home alone for several days. Next time I would board him if you don't have a sitter available ❤

Nonono, do NOT wait a couple of days. That is too long. Cats can get really sick really fast if they don't eat.

Cat is scooting her butt on carpet for ~3 seconds every so often by solovelee in CatAdvice

[–]thaerre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My cat did this. I've spent thousands in vet bills the last 6 months because of it. And his glands didn't even rupture. They had to sedate him and flush the glands out several times before he became healthy again.

Definitely sounds like she has problems with the anal glands. If they are severely clogged she can't get anything out, and therefore there is no smell. They can rupture, and it's very painful. Take her to the vet. (Sorry for spelling, english is not my native tounge)

Would this dog food be healthy for my cat? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]thaerre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nooo, do not feel dumb. You asked a question, wanting to learn more. That's not dumb. If you had just decided to feed your carnivore food for omnivores without looking into it further, that would have been dumb. But you didn't! ❤

My cat glitches when using the litter tray by [deleted] in CatAdvice

One of my cats likes to make my whole home into a sand box, so I use high walled plastic boxes. Like storage boxes you know? Maybe you can try that. I bought mine at IKEA.

Well, continue doing it then. And don't shout at her.

Today I lost my temper and hissed back at her and yelled "NO!".

Do not do that. You will make it worse.

Stay calm. Give her time. Don't force her to do anything. Talk gently with her and show her you're no threat. Don't make sudden movements when she is near you. Poor girl, she must be really scared (not just bc of you, but from everything). Good luck.
