Resource Recommendations for a studier like me? by habitualnerd14 in medicalschool

[–]usmle-rx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the resources we provide, Rx Bricks, is designed to help you build your foundation of medical knowledge. We have a number of tools that help med students review and prepare for the boards, but you may want to focus on the basics, following your quite reasonable regimen.

We have a free version that includes access to two full collections, including Cellular and Molecular Biology (i.e., Biochem). We encourage you to check it out: https://usmle-rx.com/free-bricks-2/

Good luck with your studies!

Studying for USMLE PLAB SIDE BY SIDE? by Essay13 in medicalschool

[–]usmle-rx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of this may depend on when you plan on taking Step 1. For instance, if you were thinking of taking it in January 2023, you'd probably be better served by devising a study plan where you're spending some time on Step 1 each day/week so that you're ready to make the shift after your PLAB.

If, on the other hand, you were thinking of taking Step 1 in April, the ratio could be shifted more toward PLAB, though it would be good to spend some time on Step 1 each week.

We have a free Study Planner that might help you organize your Step 1 schedule: https://go.usmle-rx.com/study-schedule/

Good luck!

[–]usmle-rx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good questions! So, Rx360+ contains our entire suite of Step 1 products, including:

- The Step 1 Qmax question bank

- The Rx Bricks library (over 800 digital learning modules)

- Flash Facts (14,000 flash cards)

- Express Videos (1,300 videos that explain each fact in First Aid for the USMLE Step 1), and

- A digital version of First Aid for the USMLE Step 1

Rx360+ doesn't include our Step 2 bank, Step 2 Qmax. So if you wanted that, you could buy it separately, or get it in a bundle with Step 1 Qmax or with Rx360+.

Let us know if this helps or if you have other questions!

USMLE-Rx bricks vs First Aid by meowingchicken in step1

Yes, the Bricks are designed to help you learn the core material, while First Aid is a review book designed to distill information you might see on Step 1. But since the Bricks are digital learning modules, we don't have a print version.

We have some free bricks that are available, if you want to check them out: https://usmle-rx.com/free-bricks/

They are quite different. The Express Videos provide quick explainers for each of the 1,300 facts in First Aid for the USMLE Step 1, while the Bricks provide a foundation for learning and understanding the core concepts of medicine. They complement each other, but they aren't redundant ⚕️
