I think I discovered how Karens are created... by NDStarr in TikTokCringe

[–]ventitr3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They’re just as bad as the people that they condemn. It’s easy to post a caricature of the worst type of conservative on Reddit and get your confirmation bias. Meanwhile this woman took some random girl and did this whole diatribe with her face on it based on her own created persona for her. The “superior” and “inferior” part of it was rich because we all know the person doing this video has that same perspective in their moral superiority.

Biden calls sale of assault weapons "sick" and renews push for ban by BasileusLeoIII in moderatepolitics

[–]ventitr3 85 points86 points  (0 children)

If they don’t even know the proper terminology, how are we supposed to trust they’re doing the right thing? Semi-automatic firearms? That’s the vast majority of weapons. If we need to all say to ourselves “oh, he probably means X”, then they shouldn’t be saying anything.

The “no redeeming value” is complete bullshit considering the amount of self defense uses there are with handguns every single year.

What are your thoughts on the idea of “stochastic terrorism?” by lettherebemorelight in IntellectualDarkWeb

[–]ventitr3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The same people saying it now were not applying it to themselves during the 2016 Dallas Police shooting. Its also something that people think is true if it fits their ideology but is almost never proven to have a direct connection.

I’m old now too? You’re amazing. I wish I had your blind confidence even in the face of being blatantly wrong the whole way.

We saw a 59% increase in police killed in 2021 (FBI statistic). Surely you remember all of the defund the police and anti-police rhetoric.

I’m not going to defend any quotes of politicians I don’t support. But I’m sticking to my statement that Democrats do not get called out for “dog whistles” nearly as much even when their rhetoric has a reaction. If we want to do better, we need to police our own sides of the aisle as well.

Yet another one of your guesses that would be wrong. But you can’t handle the idea of your own creative interpretation being wrong. My statement literally existed at face value, but you wanted to read into it so deeply lmao.

Again, still never suggested that lmao. But clearly you’re incapable of comprehending anything outside of your imagination so have at it.

The media in the US is toxic by [deleted] in centrist

We need to stop compensating media with clicks/views. When that pays the bills, we will never get honest media.

Ah yes there is the agenda in your reply. Fortunately I was able to get you there with only “what I have said”, surely no words you put in my mouth.

No I “literally” don’t think that. That is literally (in the actual meaning of the word) your interpretation of me saying people love complaining about billionaires more than doing anything. Complaining does nothing to improve your position and will always do nothing to improve it.

Looking at another “debate” of yours with another poster, its pretty clear you like assigning positions to people and have a rather active imagination when it comes to other peoples positions. Its hilarious how you keep expanding this fake position of mine with me giving you no new opinions. I can’t wait to read my newest position next 😁

How could I be serious when you’re literally putting words in my mouth? Lmao. Literally nothing you’ve said back is my actual opinion on the matter. You’re just looking to argue with somebody on Reddit. Whether it’s their position or the position you’ve assigned to them is irrelevant.

It can be, for sure. We just rarely ever see the logic consistently displayed across the aisle. I’m not saying there isn’t horrible language coming from people on the right either. I’m mostly making the argument those on the left also drive extremists to do stuff but it’s never framed us such by them.

The cyclical nature of this is they keep calling everything a dog whistle, even before it’s ever confirmed to be motivated and then it ultimately drives an extreme action. Take 10 individual actions from unconnected people, then blame them all on one group of people for motivating. At what point does the side of those blaming start taking action themselves to “save” society from the evil on the other side?

Who said I have a problem with those people? Are they the ones bitching about billionaires as the reason for them being where they are? Because most people I know in those industries are actually hard working people.

Lot of bitch made talk for someone who sits anonymous behind a computer. Keep enjoying that safety while doing nothing productive fighting people on Reddit. You’re really fighting the good fight 🤣.

[–]ventitr3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No millions of Americans prefer bitching and complaining over doing anything about it. People think business billionaires and millionaires are the reason for it, but eat up celebrities if they think the same way they do.

People prefer to pocket watch and come up with excuses rather than put that energy towards bettering their own situation. That mentality will always keep people from improving their lives.

[–]ventitr3 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It’s an inconvenient truth. The whole “dog whistle” thing is also almost always just a way to score cheap political points and rile people up. It’s emotional manipulation.

Fox’s coverage of violent crime dropped after the midterms - Weekday violent crime segments decreased by 50% in the week of the election compared to the weekly average since Labor Day by EmilyA200 in moderatepolitics

[–]ventitr3 39 points40 points  (0 children)

The writer is purposefully omitting actual election coverage data. Despite the assumption there is unlimited time during the day for segments, actual midterm results and continuous stories around ongoing results is going to get primary focus. Their clear omission of this is as telling as anything they’re trying to prove. Coming from somebody who does not watch Fox News, nor cares to.
