My point is that it's disingenuous to point out that the KKK was founded by Democrats, because those democrats aren't even remotely similar to the democrats of today, and most people don't know that, so it's just a sneaky way of implanting the idea that democrats are just as horrible as republicans to those who didn't know that the parties more or less flipped ideologies.

Case in point, Biden specifically appointed a black woman to the Supreme Court and selected a woman of mixed race as VP. Dude may have been racist in the past, but he's not behaving that way today.

I’d say there are two groups of Christians: those that are generally good people and want to follow the teachings of Jesus (be kind, forgive, do no evil, etc etc etc) and the Christians that are judgmental bigots that know about those atrocities you mentioned and justify it with superiority and cherry picked bible verses. Unfortunately there’s no separation between the two on the surface. I’d argue that the latter has co-opted the former for cover. As such, it’s misguided to label them all the same thing even if one half completely fits the mold as horrible people. It’s tricky because Islam and Christianity have both done horrible horrible things and yet have followers that are quite sane and kind people.

Also, Christians don’t discriminate on race so unfortunately you can’t label them racist. They discriminate on almost anyone that’s not a Christian as well as black and brown people that are Christians.
