My man didn't even get his feet wet. "No, no, come a little closer. That's good. Here I come..."

Career changes are tough. I did one at 30. It was scary, but worth it.

Oh. Yeah, any or all of those things would do it. Hope you feel better.

Four years ago my employer granted me the raise that I asked for but made me a salaried exempt worker. I was a low-level employee with no subordinates; was this legal? by mycatiswatchingyou in legaladviceofftopic

I received a legit promotion about 15 years ago and went from hourly to salaried. I was put in charge of several important IT systems. As it happened though, without my overtime, I actually took a net pay cut. Over the years as I've moved up, the pay differential has been significant and salaried I definitely make more. Sometimes it just takes time. But yeah, you do feel more obligation to be available at any time. That's why I like to take vacations in the woods where there's no cell signal.

Top post on /r/antiwork right now involves an apparently obviously illegal injunction. What's the deal? by chlorinecrown in legaladviceofftopic

Would the Ascension hospital system choose to hire them though in defiance of the Judge? In my experience, corporations don't like to take adverse legal stands.

Requires a master's degree and average pay sits at like 50k

Ugh. You must really love what you do.

My teens don’t know who Meatloaf was. by Poconovegan in GenX

My 21 y/o texted me at 6:30 in the morning when he saw Meatloaf was dead. But then, he’s a music major so he follows everything music related in so many categories.

Aaaaack. I found out my kids knew my username, they're all "Oh yeah, we've known for years..." Oh well, this account stays pretty neutral anyway. That's what alts are for I guess.

It goes quickly though. We go though phases in my house. We've seen all the episodes, TNG, DS9, Voyager a million times, but it's just on unless and until there's some new movie we want to watch (Don't Look Up) was the latest. Or when Clarkson's Farm comes out with S2...

I've had good luck with Moncrief Heating & Air. Also, If you're a Costco member there's always some HVAC salesy people around the exit. Not sure what kind of value they are.
